Motley Monday Check in and Mooselaneous Musings

 photo P1000104_zpsb6550ad6.jpg

Good morning Motley Meese! Hope your weekend was lovely. The above is another shot from my fabjabulous new camera.

PLEASE Don’t Recommend the check-in diary!

Fierces on the weather jar comment are still welcome.

The check-in is an open thread and general social hour.

It’s traditional but not obligatory to give us a weather check where you are and let us know what’s new, interesting, challenging or even routine in your life lately. Nothing is particularly obligatory here except:

Always remember the Moose Golden (Purple?) Rule:

Be kind to each other… or else.

What could be simpler than that, right?

  1. Perfect weather in Madison today. 53 degrees on its way up to 75 degrees, partly cloudy. Did I say perfect?

Great photos, iriti!! I think your camera is definitely fabjabulous. 🙂

Off to the wars. My boss won’t let me stay home and nap either.

Today the president will announce a series of executive actions addressing the student loan crisis that was the subject of his weekly address. Like he said “I will keep doing whatever I can without Congress to help responsible young people pay off their loans”.

Have a great day, all y’alls!

for all. It’s headed for 71 here with showers to liven things up. Am already behind in everything and longing for a nap. Alas, it’s not to be.

staying in – have to postpone garden work. A few rose bushes are finally starting to  bloom, but most still haven’t opened buds yet.

We’re supposed to get some rain today – that’ll be nice. I slept in, though “sleep” again may be a strong term. I took extra melatonin last night, that didn’t help. Sigh.

Leaving for the bookstore so that I’ll be there just shortly before they open. Then moseying to work. Excited for this evening (Pat Rothfuss reading & signing bookplates for the novelette that will be published in October)

So, that’s my day. Bookstore, rain, work, bookstore.

70 F. already. We might have more thunderstorms today. We definitely had rain last night. Even the hostas got wet, which usually doesn’t happen because they live under the overhang in front of the house,

Just got Miss Pink Cheeks off to summer day camp, “All About Animals.” I can already tell I’m going to get tired of writing her name on white adhesive tape and sticking it on everything she eats and drinks. Anyway she looked very cute in her pink dress, new pink tennis shoes, and dark pink hat. Naturellement, she was assigned to the Pigs group.

Off to Trader Joe’s in a moment to pick up groceries, then home to write, I hope! Got to make some progress on “Out of the Sea” for my Litha story.

Hope everyone has a good day and stays awake.  I’m having some heavenly coffee at this moment!

I’m off to the pool soon, then hope to be outside all afternoon. The mom’s day lounge/leg up chair is perfect…..I can garden a bit then rest my leg, then do some more. Learning patience at my age is a problem though!

Just got back from taking Grey to the sanctuary (or actually meeting with the sanctuary people at a half-way point in Greenwood, AR).  It’s the Rocking aa sanctuary in Mena, AR – they take a variety of unadoptable animals – and I’m going to ask teh PQ to ask for donations in a pootie diary soon.  They don’t have a mandatory drop-off fee, but they request a donation of $100 (reasonable considering how much it costs to keep animals and one like Grey, even if he is FIC+, is likely to be with them for years) that I don’t have at the moment because of all the other expenses associated with Grey (vet, dr., window repair).  I’ll be able to send them some after the next payroll – but payroll runs the last working day of the month.

Health and Safety Tip for the Week:  If a cat in your arms launches himself at another cat do not, I repeat DO NOT catch him in mid-leap!  He knew he’d been bad.  When I dropped him and yelled, he didn’t head for Charlie, he booked it out the door to the porch.  He likes people.  And at my age I should have known better.  At least I had enough sense to obey Nurse Kelley and get my tail to a walk-in clinic.  Not that I got the kind of care I’d have gotten from our family doctor back in the day, but my roiling stomach is dealing with the antibiotics as best it can.

Anyway, hope life in Moosylvania is going well.  Now I need to get some work done. 🙂
