Motley Monday Check in and Mooselaneous Musings

 photo Monday2_zps83ab71bd.jpg

Good morning Motley Meese! Hope your weekend was lovely.

PLEASE Don’t Recommend the check-in diary!

Fierces on the weather jar comment are still welcome.

The check-in is an open thread and general social hour.

It’s traditional but not obligatory to give us a weather check where you are and let us know what’s new, interesting, challenging or even routine in your life lately. Nothing is particularly obligatory here except:

Always remember the Moose Golden (Purple?) Rule:

Be kind to each other… or else.

What could be simpler than that, right?

Headed for a rainy 64. It was a lovely weekend though so I’ll take it.

I hiked both days, a total of 11 hilly miles

    How was your weekend?

  2. It was a lovely weekend here, too. Yesterday afternoon, I was one of the lizard people and sat out on my back deck and let the sun bake me. It felt wonderful.

It is 43 degrees now and the expected high is 58 degrees. They took the rain out of the forecast. Thank you, they!

There were so many great lines from the president’s routine at the WHCD. I loved the Kenyan riffs especially the one poking Fox News and its birthers in the eye. But my favorite was this Bundy one:

“As a general rule, things don’t like end well if the sentence starts, ‘let me tell you something I know about the Negro.’ You don’t really need to hear the rest of it. Just a tip for you — don’t start your sentence that way.”

    Have a great day, meeses!

I have no coffee in the house.

There’s an “Active Aging Expo” today and I’ll stop at Starbucks on the way there. I can wait until nine o’clock for my coffee. Yup, I can do that.

Speaker topics include “Be Strong, Stay Vertical,” “Ethical Driving,” and “Stay Young at Heart With Healthy Eating.” Do these sound weird or what…

Fitness demonstrations include “Boomer Boot Camp” and something called “Nia” as well as ballet and belly dancing.

Last year I flunked hula hoop. Just couldn’t get the damn thing to spin. There better be hoops there today so I can try again.

morning–which means, of course, we’ll have rain this afternoon. The rain “they” took out of JanF’s forecast is headed this way, apparently.

The Pink-Cheeked Precious appeared to have a cold when we took her out for breakfast yesterday, so I asked her parents if she could spend the night with us and stay home with me today. I don’t think she needs to be spreading or worsening that cold at day care. She had a good night and a good breakfast, so after we’re dressed we’ll go outside and do some gardening. Bought three tomato plants and a blackberry yesterday, so they need to be planted.

Other than that, I’ll continue reading Celtic Visions, a book I just bought in the hope it will spur my imagination. I have to get busy and work on my Litha story.

Hope everyone will have a good day today!

I’ll go to the pool soon, pay some bills, and then I hope to spend some time in the garden. I rested all day yesterday in hopes my throbbing toe would miraculously just get better, but it didn’t so I’ll have to be careful. It is improving, just slower than I wish 🙁

90s yesterday with overnight low in upper 60s – I’m having to water my nursery stock already.  (Good news – all 3 of the hazelnut bush whips Arbor Day foundation sent me last December survived the winter.  I thought I’d lost one, but it just needed an extra couple of weeks of warm weather to start leafing out.)  Piecemealing the summer pay – as I get totals and cost centers, I’m entering stuff and hoping to heaven I’ll get all of it before summer actually starts 🙂  Have the good day.

My work computer wouldn’t talk to the internet this morning. Took till after 10 to fix it, then I had a lot of work to make up. It would be on the day my ‘puter won’t talk to the internet that I have 3 address changes to do, and I had 4 new applications & we always run addresses through the post office website for the +4.

Anyway – hi. I’m not ignoring you.
