Friday Coffee Hour: Check In and Hangout for the Herd

Good morning, Moosekind. TGIF!

PLEASE Do Not Recommend the check-in diary!

Recs on the weather jar comment are still welcome.

Friday Coffee Hour and check-in is an open thread and general social hour. Come back when time allows through the day – the conversation continues.

It’s traditional but not obligatory to give us a weather check where you are and let us know what’s new, interesting, challenging or even routine in your life lately. Nothing is particularly obligatory here except:

Always remember the Moose Golden (Purple?) Rule:

Be kind to each other… or else.

What could be simpler than that, right?

Forecast high is 53 but yesterday we beat the forecast by 5 degrees so who knows.

In other weather news, it is beginning to look like Mother Nature doesn’t wantvus driving home as planned. Significant snow & ice at home Sunday into Monday. Ick.

    Anyway, TGIF!

  2. It is -4 degrees here in Madison … but it is a “windless” cold so it is not as cold. I think not. It is still “too” cold for humans to want to be outside. Our expected high is 21 degrees and snow is expected tonight into tomorrow (less than an inch).

Oh noes, iriti!! I looked at the map and bad weather is heading your way. Stay safe!!

Last day of February … work beckons. Stay out of trouble, all y’all.

10 degrees here but the wind chill is -5. It’s a mittens kind of day. Deadlines approaching but will check in on and off. Now coffee and efforts to figure out Ukraine. Hope it’s a good day for all.

Well, it’s cold (to a Texan) this morning – 42, but this afternoon, it’ll hit 80. A gorgeous weekend, then another cold front Sunday & it’ll be cold again next week. Speaking of next week – how’d it get to be March??? Wasn’t my birthday just about 2 weeks ago?

Anyway, I’m eating breakfast & drinking tea. Got a whole 5 hours of sleep last night! I’m leaving early for a physical, & I’ll be taking home some gadget (I assume a CPAP machine) to test whether I have sleep apnea. Wonder how thoroughly I’ll have to re-arrange my bedside table. And maybe this afternoon I’ll finally do those flyers. Too late for early voting, but in time for Tuesday.

Yesterday I photographed a huge pension file at NARA. It meant I had to be on my feet for three hours, since there’s no way to manage the camera and the document sitting down. By the time I got home I ached from head to toe but was satisfied with a good job of work. Slept like the proverbial log last night.

Today my allergies are over the top. I think that after the snow melts and the rain stops, the mold dries out and blows into the air, filling my sinuses ferociously. Today’s shopping list includes Loratidine along with my Rx’s.

I leave the house at 9:00 to make sure the traffic has died down. Only 19 minutes to go before I go and do errands, putting off until later a review of the dozens and dozens of images I made yesterday.

My reward after I finish checking and sending the client’s Civil War pension file will be to curl up with my great-grandmother’s grandfather’s War of 1812 pension file, which I also copied yesterday. ( http://go.fold3.com/1812pensions/ )

    there’s a yellowish streak amid the blue on the map that usually means it’s going to split with the southern part going down the AR River Valley and the northern part takes the MO River Valley route – leaving us dry (Burn Ban issued last week and cattle farmers are worried about pasture already).  Anyway, it’s payday (W00t!) and I’m going to the bank before that hypothetical rain gets here.  Have a good Friday and weekend.  {{{HUGS}}}

Yesterday turned into one long nap, and then I slept all night as well. Feeling rested is a surprise! Hope it lasts awhile.

I enjoyed this article by Steve Brill, at Time…..
