Thursday Morning Herd Check-in

Make sure you let your peeps

  know where to find you!

PLEASE Do Not Recommend the check-in diary

Fierces on the Weather Critter Comment are obligatory welcome.

The morning check-in is an open thread posted to give you a place to visit with the meeses. Feel free to chat about your weather, share a bit of your life, grump (if you must), rave (if you can). The diarist du jour sometimes posts and runs, other times sticks around for a bit, often returns throughout the day and always cares that meeses are happy … or at least contented.

For those new to the Moose, Kysen left a Moose Welcome Mat (Part Deux) so, please, wipe your feet before you walk in the front door start posting.

The important stuff to get you started:

– Comments do not Auto-refresh. Click the refresh/reload on your tab to see new ones. Only click Post once for comments. When a diary’s comment threads grow, the page takes longer to refresh and the comment may not display right away.

– To check for replies to your comments, click the “My Comments” link in the right-hand column (or go to “My Moose”). Comments will be listed and a link to Recent Replies will be shown. (Note: Tending comments builds community)

– Ratings: Fierce means Thumbs Up, Fail means Thumbs Down, Meh means one of three things: I am unFailing you but I can’t Fierce you, I am unFiercing after a mistaken Fierce, … or Meh. Just Meh. (p.s. Ratings don’t bestow mojo, online behaviour does).

– The Recommended list has a prominent place on the Front Page because it reflects the interests of the Moose. When people drive-by, we want them to see what we are talking about: news, politics, science, history, personal stories, culture. The list is based on number of recs and days on the list. Per Kysen: “The best way to control Rec List content is to ONLY rec diaries you WANT to see ON the list.

– Finally, the posting rules for a new diary: “Be excellent to each other… or else

(Some other commenting/posting/tending notes for newbies can be found in this past check-in and, of course, consult Meese Mehta for all your questions on meesely decorum.)

was going to post how different our temps are here in Saugerties…you know – like a balmy 20 or so – then I checked the weather at we are at

    4 degrees.

    ACK!

I don’t want to leave the house but have school today.

is 22 degrees here but we are going down to 9 which is still balmier than other part of Mooselandia! Am about to take a look at Jan’s new diary. But wonder why it is that so much legislation is based on hate not love or compassion. Sigh. Have a good day all. Stay warm and happy

Another cold day today, but tomorrow’s high is supposed to be 80. Then a gorgeous weekend, then Monday the high will be 50. Seriously – is it any wonder we’re crazy?

Anyway, I’m eating breakfast & drinking tea. Trying to stay awake. I get a sleep apnea machine to test out tomorrow. We’ll see if it’s that, but I think it’s hormones.

Mojo to woot for a better job to beat down her door. Healing mojo to yasu.

A nice surprise to find this video on YT last night. She’s one of my favorite song writer/singers so her message is doubly appealing to me.

for tomorrow but I’ll believe it when I see it (chance of precip something like 20%) – both highs and lows for the next week have shifted up by 20 degrees so no single digits even in the forecast for the 1st week of March!  Spring is coming!  Yea!

Finally got my travel receipts so need to get to processing that and then I guess I’ll have to track down each professor in person to get the textbook requests I need.  Sigh.  Anyway, stay healthy in Mooselandia.  {{{HUGS}}} bf

with a current temperature of 30 F. Miss Pink Cheeks was in rather a bad moodies this morning: she used every delaying tactic known to humankind to avoid getting dressed, with the result that we were even later than usual getting to day care. She demanded quiet during the drive so she could take a nap. Part of her bad mood might be attributed to the fact that Rosie, the stuffed toy kitty she received for her birthday, had a slight cold and had to stay home today.

Well, back here at the ranch, I’m catching up with things. Got some writing to do and a telephone call to make. My desktop publisher sent over some edits, some of which I agree with and some I don’t. She can’t proceed with the book until she receives my reply so I guess that’s the job of the morning!

Has anyone heard of young people using a social medium called “Vine”? That’s a new one on me.

Am delighted by the veto in Arizona but saddened by the news of an upsurge of antisemitism in Ukraine. Haven’t they problems enough without adding that? Hope today brings good news somewhere in the world.

Everyone have a good day and stay warm!

it needs a diary (I’m getting ready for bed & will only be around for 1/2 a day tomorrow, or I’d do it)
