Winter Wonderland ~ Make it Stop!

That’s my lilac tree covered in ice and snow. I am so over winter and it is only December (and I really do like snow).

I’ve already pulled out the seed catalogue and am planning my cottage garden to help ease the winter blahs.

A few days ago I shared a picture of the ice coated trees in the wetlands behind my house with friends and dared them to deny that it was beautiful. You will be shocked to hear that some denied it!!

Let me see if I can upload it from my phone into Photobucket and post it for you to decide for yourself.

for us. It has already frozen several times, which……. well, we have entire winters where it never freezes. We had the longest time with it never getting above 50 degrees since last February — and it wasn’t even actually winter yet.

I do wish it would pick one, though. Sandal weather, then 2 days later it freezes. Long sleeves then t-shirts, then coats & gloves….. If it would just pick 1 thing & stay that way for, say 2 weeks or even a month. Though a month of actual cold would probably kill us.

Are lovely if you don’t have to go outside with 65-year-old reflexes, a replaced hip, and a bad knee.

At least my horse has his winters shoes on with the cleats, so he has some traction. Not to mention a waterproof blanket and lots of fur. So he doesn’t seem to mind it.
