Reconciliation Open Thread.

Politico is announcing that it is a go for reconciliation on Health Care Reform.  This will come as a blow to the Tea Party and to much of Left Blogistan, but sometimes you just have to succeed no matter who it offends.

Sen. Tom Harkin tells POLITICO that Senate Democratic leaders have decided to go the reconciliation route for health care reform. The House, he said, will first pass the Senate bill after Senate leaders demonstrate that they have the votes to pass reconciliation in the Senate.

Do you think it is ever time to chill out, or is hyperventilation the only acceptable route?

    brought my freshman year art history class roaring back.  my notes were nothing but sketches of everything we had to remember.  anyhoo, if the HCR effort is winged justice, does that make the GOP the dying gaul?

    someone ought to clue politico (lol) in on the fact that reconciliation (crazy terrorist marxitard nuclear maneuver option) has been the chosen route since the healthcare summit (and probably long before).  blair house was just another way to showcase the GOP for what they are these days: obstructionist blowtards.

    I live by the philosophy that if I’ve run into a stumbling block to achieving my goal, I spend some time thinking of a workaround.  It doesn’t matter to me if the stumbling block is a condition, an object, a person or a party.  I treat all as simply obstacles.

    Don’t know if it’s the best philosophy but I’ve never had an ulcer and pretty much get what I want eventually.

    Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid aren’t about to let something as trivial as losing an election stand in the way of their quest to shove ObamaCare down your throat and transform the United States into a socialist nation.

        So says Andrew McCarthy in National Review Online… and he’s right. Make no bones about it, Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid and other hard-core radical leftists in Congress are… in fact… on a suicide mission.

        Extreme leftists within the Democratic party, who now hold positions of leadership in Congress have been patiently biding their time for years… waiting to take power… waiting for their chance… and they’re not going to let something as trivial as losing elections or advancing the perception that they are behaving in a tyrannical manner, avert their eyes from the prize.

        Transforming the United States was always… first and foremost… their goal and forcing ObamaCare down our throats represents their best chance to make that life-long dreams come true.

        Have no doubts… Pelosi can pass ObamaCare in the House of Representatives… and she will do it unless we stop her. According to the Washington Examiner, Pelosi said on Monday she believes “… she can muster the 217 House votes needed to pass President Obama’s massive health care bill via the so-called reconciliation process.”

        And that means we’re days away from watching the United States morph into a socialist nation and the only thing… repeat… the only thing that stands in Pelosi, Obama and Reid’s way is YOU.

    and it gets worse.

    Only You Stand In The Way Of Radical Leftists Realizing Their Dream Of Turning The United States Into A Socialist Nation.

        That statement bears repeating… no one, as things now stand, will be able to stop ObamaCare EXCEPT YOU.

        This attempt to push ObamaCare was never about health care. It was never about making health care more available or affordable to folks like us.

        So what is the goal of these radical leftists? Eric Blair, who wrote under the pen-name of George Orwell, out of fear that his socialist cronies would murder him for writing of his disillusionment with socialism, said it over a half-century ago:

    Eric Massa (D-NY) has decided not to seek re-election; he’s holding a press conference this afternoon.  Initial reports indicated it was because of a recurrence of cancer but Politico (yeah, I know) says the Rep. has been “dogged by allegations of sexual harrassment of a male staffer.”

    WASHINGTON – President Barack Obama urged Congress Wednesday to vote “up or down” on sweeping health care legislation in the next few weeks, endorsing a plan that denies Senate Republicans the right to kill the bill by stalling with a filibuster.

    “I don’t see how another year of negotiations would help. Moreover, the insurance companies aren’t starting over,” Obama said, rejecting Republican calls to begin anew on an effort to remake the health care system.

    The president made his appeal as Democratic leaders in Congress surveyed their rank and file for the votes needed to pass legislation by majority vote – invoking rules that deny Senate Republicans the right to block it through endless stalling debate. Obama specifically endorsed that approach.

    The strategy was detailed in a confidential party fundraising presentation, obtained by POLITICO, which also outlines how “ego-driven” wealthy donors can be tapped with offers of access and “tchochkes.”

    The presentation was delivered by RNC Finance Director Rob Bickhart to top donors and fundraisers at a party retreat in Boca Grande, Florida on February 18, a source at the gathering said.

    I can’t stand Sean Hannity. Calls Obama “the annointed one.” Name calling never made anyone look smart.

    Sorry it’s hard to read; if you cliok on the link you can see what the specific legislation was.  The number of times the Republicans used reconciliation, though, in the Bush era is unmistakeable.

    CNN is FLAT OUT accusing these lawyers of treason. They are implying that the DOJ is serving the interests of terrorists. They are feeding Liz Cheney talking points and their desperate attempts to reve up some scandalous story to create outrage to boost ratings is bound to get someone killed…God forbid it be the man on top.

    I’m fucking sick of it.

    Because now I have some evidence backing my assertion that Jerome, Bruh, and upstate kent are entirely full of shit.

    I also have to say that, were it true that we could lose the democratic majority by passing HCR (even this weak-ass version) I would gladly see it happen, though I believe the opposite will be the case.
