Troubleshooting: IE Bug – SOLVED

UPDATE: The IE Comment Issue has been SOLVED. All IE users should be able to resume normal Moosey activity. Three cheers for John Allen!

As many of you know the Moose is currently experiencing some technical difficulties when it comes to the commenting abilities of our IE users. Soapblox is looking into the problem, but, is actually having a hard time replicating it. They have IE versions 7-10 working on their end.

Based on this, we are asking for your help in figuring out which version(s) of IE are having the most trouble.

The Lounge: I Find Myself in the Strangest Places

When I allow myself, usually out of boredom, to follow the ‘you might like this’ trail on YouTube….I find myself in the strangest places.

This afternoon was one of those experiences. I can’t even tell you where I started my Sunday afternoon travels…but, will share with you a couple of the videos at the end of my journey. I will also include a couple of the ‘treasures’ found during past ‘I just fell through the Youtube rabbit hole’ adventures.

Virginian Shenanigans Begin Again

Virginia, a beautiful State known for her Shenandoah Valley, Shenandoah Caverns and Shenandoah River…is now in the news for her Shenandoahigans. There are currently two underhanded attempts in the works by the State GOP to gain control of power (both at the State and National levels) via the electoral process.

The first, a last minute power grab at the State level via draconian gerrymandering. The second, a blatant attempt to sway National elections by changing the way Virginia’s electoral votes are distributed.

While the purposeful abuses of the electoral process are horrifying, there is still a chance that neither will become law. One, it appears, may be too damaging to the Governor’s optics, and he may refuse to sign it when it hits his desk… while the other may run afoul of the Voting Rights Act and currently has fellow Republicans stating they will not support it.

In other words…there is yet hope.

Sad News

Hey gang…I know that many of you do not visit dKos, however, I thought that some of you might want to visit to comment/give last repects to/for Translator (Doc).

Edie Windsor's Supreme Court challenge to DOMA begins next week

The first briefs will be filed in Edith Windsor’s challenge to Section 3 of the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA), United States v. Windsor, on January 22. Edith “Edie” Windsor is an 83 year old widow from New York. She met Thea Spyer more than 40 years ago; they started dating after two years and got engaged shortly thereafter. During that time there was no possibility of two women marrying: it was during the era of the Stonewall riots, and right around the time that two men attempted to get married in Minnesota, only to have their case, Baker v. Nelson, reach the Supreme Court and earn a one-sentence summary dismissal before any arguments or briefing.

Here we are, Moose…four years later.

I’m excited and nervous.

Hopeful and semi-confident.

I am also thrilled to be here, again, with you silly Moose.

When do you think we will know?
