I’m prepping today, but serving tomorrow. Since I have no vacation time yet on my new job, I wasn’t able to go up north with the family this year. I invited over some friends to compensate. I’m making most of the fixins, which I could probably do in my sleep. Which is good, because I’m sleepy.

    Answers:

I love all the old studio stuff, I guess it depends on my mood. Like Warners and their early musicals (Busby Berkeley!) and then the gangster stuff (Bogart! Cagney!) and their cartoons (better than Disney). Paramount had the Marx Brothers, Mae West, Swanson, Valentino… MGM had all those slickly produced films, my favorites being the Thin Man series, among others. RKO had Fred and Ginger. I could go on, but I guess I just love ’em all. The studio system really screwed the stars, but they made a lot of great films.

Favorite comedy team? The Marx Brothers! No, wait, Monty Python! Can I call it a draw?

I don’t drive, though a bus I was on got pulled over for speeding once. That was amusing.

    Football? What’s that?

Happy Thanksgiving ev’ybuddy! An’ Happy Hanukkah too!

I couldn’t guess which studio made which movie.

Speed limit cameras have caught me four or five times. Finally now I know where they are. I once got caught by a camera on a van parked by the side of the road. Grrr.

On my 50 mile highway drives I keep up with traffic and maintain a steady speed. If traffic is going 70, drivers, go 70, don’t get distracted and slow down. If you have cruise control, please use it. Kthxbai.

Football? What is this football you speak of?

And happy Thanksgiving to Floja and the other FBombers 🙂

    Q&A

If you’re an old movie fan, which movie studio’s output (MGM, Warner, Paramount, RKO, etc.) your favorite?  Couldn’t say.  I do enjoy old movies, but generally fail to pay attention to movie studio, director, etc.

Who was your favorite comedy team or troupe?   oooh, tough one.  Abbott & Costello, Laurel & Hardy, The Three Stooges…  I declare a draw!

Are you obedient of the speed limit, even when traveling long distances? How many speeding tickets have you received?  I follow the speed limit through towns or populated areas.  On the highway, hell no.  I go fast (well, keep up with traffic, really), but I don’t weave in and out of lanes.  I have a very clean record.

What football teams are you rooting for today?  Err, whichever ones I picked in my football pool.  I know I didn’t pick the Cowboys or Washington, I always pick against those two on principle.  Beyond that, no idea.

  6. Gee

for the birthday wishes and all that delicious cake!  And happy Thanksgiving to all!

Been spending a lazy day watching golf with Lulu, but then Lulu stopped being lazy and started making dinner, so I got out of her way.  😉
