Diary Templates can be a little challenging,

so we’ve listed some helpful hints below.

Before we get started JanFab has

some instructions that should help.

‘Fierce’ means Thumbs Up,

‘Fail’ means Thumbs Down,

‘Meh’ means one of three things:

I am un’Failing’ you but I can’t ‘Fierce’ you,

I am un’Fiercing’ after a mistaken ‘Fierce’

or ‘Meh’. Just ‘Meh’.

Diaries

When creating a new diary, remember to choose the

Draft option while you are working on it.

Choose the Public option when you want to publish.

(located at bottom of template)

If you are an established Moose, you know the drill

so pull up a chair, get yourself comfy and a cuppa

whatever it that gets the motor running.

The Rulz

The most important rule around here is;

Be Kind to Each Other… or else.

 photo dog_eat_cat.jpg

Seriously though, if you don’t want it said to you, then don’t say it to someone else. Respect is an important thing. If you feel the need to not be respectful, then step away and take a breather. Political debate can be both spirited and respectful.

I am here – and awake – so it seems

After leaving my warm bed of dreams

Though the skies are still dark

    I’ll bring humor and snark

    In ridiculous limerick schemes!

24 here on the lakefront and MORE snow is headed our way, just enough to make a mess.

oh, the joys of automatic updates from Windows. everything was all set up lastnight, all i had to do was click PUBLISH this morning, but NO, Windows auto rebooted and i had to start from scratch. :-/

    have a great day everyone!

mornin’ CC, i’m on daddy duty.

i’ll be back in a bit.

  3. I will have a Pi Day celebratory post later this morning so save a piece of this for later.

16 degrees in Madison WI on its way up to 36.

Great LOLs, dear occupant. I am regifting a few to myself.

  4. Melanie and I made a valiant attempt to see the comet last night. Nothing. It was disappointing. But, there was a nice new moon and I got to sit with her and talk in the dark. However, bucket seats in her car are not conducive to necking. We didn’t try that, this time.

Gotta go to work again. Behave yourselves. I thought the cat pictures were funny today.

You know when you get a call or text at 3 AM that it’s nothing good, right? Well, I got one of those early this morning. My brother-in-law (my sister’s husband), who has been fighting lung cancer, lost the fight last night. DO, you’ve got a day or so to do something about the Illinois weather. I’ll probably be flying in to Peoria for the funeral and to help my sister out. So maybe put your head together with kirbybruno and a couple other Land of Lincoln folk and see what you can do. I hate funerals, and I hate them more in cold weather.

a thirty odd degree Manhattan Just finished a big work project and am about to see what’s happening in the world. Hope the news is good.

A good day to stay in the house and tidy it up.  It needs it!  Besides, it’ll take my mind off food–today is a diet day.

Trs, so sorry to hear about your sad news.  I hope the weather will be all right for you to fly.

Don’t know about anyone else, but I am weary of saturation coverage by the media.  I might not turn the box on today, I’m so tired of “all pope, all the time.”

What’s everyone doing for St. Patrick’s Day?  I’m taking my future daughter-in-law out for an English tea in a greenhouse, so that’ll be our concession to “green.”  Saturday night Dearly Beloved will take me out for corned beef and cabbage, which I adore, but have no wish to cook for myself. This will be my belated birthday dinner.

Everyone have a good, if chilly, day!

with clear sunny skies. It’s headed to 80 degrees today, time for a pedicure and sandals! So far we’ve been calm and the weather guy promised a few days of no wind. Windows calling and there’s some insulating around the installed ones that’s been waiting for a day when we can air the house. And more miniature hats since the patterns are finally figured out, the first one takes all the time.

It’s about 50°F outside in the pre-dawn, with highs reaching toward 70°F later on (yesterday we reached 71°F).

I have a therapy visit sometime today and apart from that I’m hoping to get in a good walk, but otherwise I predict a napathon on the way. Can’t seem to get enough sleep!

of a refund due to the having to have an apartment over in Peoria for the year.  I plan to put 99% of the refund to a doozer of a payment on principal of the mortgage.

Found a couple of neat shirts yesterday and put in my 2012 Roth IRA funds.  Today, hem a couple pairs of jeans and mend a couple more.  Hoping the order from penny’s arrives today so that I can wash the new clothes properly.

I need to get a pie for pi day… I have the munchies for pie now…….

  11. She’s heard from Berkeley, Univ of Chicago, and Michigan now and been accepted at all three for grad school. Michigan is her 2nd choice, so she’s pretty happy already. Still to hear from Princeton and Harvard.

…and took myself down to the corner store for a can of Kern’s Apricot Nectar, for which I was feeling a sudden yen. Shoulda bought two, because one is never satisfying enough, and they also had the strawberry/banana variety, which always reminds me of my favorite baby food. It’s comforting, somehow. My favorite flavor other than apricot is guava, which has the perfect balance of tart and sweet; but this morning apricot won the day.

Anyway, it feels so good to be able to go out and satisfy a food craving just like that (and by now the crutches hardly get in the way). Oh, and the fog is trying mightily to lift. It’s still grey and misty out, but the temperature is very mild and there’s almost no wind. Going to be a good afternoon, I think. 🙂

Great diary, as always! Happy 3.14 to all and Happy Happy Birthday to RB137!

Sorry I’m late today. The vacuum between my ears is having an ache today. Going back to bed, but I didn’t want to miss sharing a piece of 3.14 with everyone.

    How about a praline?

The day is growing warmer by the minute…headed for a high of 80 today. Shaping up to be gorgeous afternoon in North Texas.

Keeping the fingers nimble today as I get ready for a sheep to shawl workshop with the local 4-H groups this Saturday. Always a lot of fun! Looking forward to doing a bobbin lace demo for them as well…I’m still new to bobbin lace but it’s coming along nicely. I’ve found a lace making guild in Austin and hope to visit with them on my next trip to Austin–of course that all depends on my health and the sequester fall out. :o/

Couple of thread crochet patterns to write out and get up on the blog. Making up patterns is the easy part…Writing them out? That’s an entirely different story. But I will prevail (I hope!)

    Happy Thursday!

…by a grizzled old construction worker with a heavy Irish accent who rang my bell wanting landlord info. He’s working on the remodel job next door and wants access to this property in order to paint the exterior side wall of that building.

And I was just at that point of drifting off where, had he rang a moment later, I’d have been oblivious. Or had he rang a moment earlier, I would have been clear-headed enough to ignore the bell’s summons. ::sigh::

Now I’m off to try again.

The crows are carrying sticks into the trees.

Mr bwren’s car is having problems.

Bill-the-Dog may be having serious problems. He’s 12. We’ll know more tomorrow when the tests come back.

We are not at our best this evening.

Apologies. I’ve been here 36 hours and have already started complaining. These things will get better. Or not. We’ll know what to do as the days progress.

(It’s comfy here – thank you.)

  17. anotherdemocrat

I couldn’t check in while I was in Dallas, my mom’s internet & cable has already been turned off. Packed up her apartment today, then I just drove home. I’m really tired, between the packing & the driving. I’ll be more talkative tomorrow.
