‘Fierce’ means Thumbs Up,

‘Fail’ means Thumbs Down,

‘Meh’ means one of three things:

I am un’Failing’ you but I can’t ‘Fierce’ you,

I am un’Fiercing’ after a mistaken ‘Fierce’

Diaries

When creating a new diary, remember to choose the

Draft option while you are working on it.

Choose the Public option when you want to publish.

If you are an established Moose, you know the drill

so pull up a chair, get yourself comfy and a cuppa

whatever it that gets the motor running.

The Rulz

The most important rule around here is;

Be Kind to Each Other… or else.

 photo thCANIVMZI.jpg

Seriously though, if you don’t want it said to you, then don’t say it to someone else. Respect is an important thing. If you feel the need to not be respectful, then step away and take a breather. Political debate can be both spirited and respectful.

for Lady Iriti! It is her birthday. I found this Birthday Cake and bubbly especially for her.

     photo dragonflybirthdaycake.jpg

I think we will be needing a bit more bubbly though.

My birthday wish for you is a completely healed shoulder, good as new, and a wonderful day!

We may have a chance of some light snow this afternoon. The temps waver between 32-38, so the precipitation can’t make up its mind.

So, I will be leaving soon for my office to get my materials bag packed and then move on to see the first little one at her daycare by 8:00. She’s a cutie, so it helps to see her smile first thing in the morning as we work on back sounds vs. front sounds and blowing sounds vs. stopping sounds.

    Have a good day, all!

during my lunch break –  have to leave early – bad weather headed here – I’m leaving early for my drive to school, and have fingers crossed that the homeward bound journey will not be fraught with peril (caused by idiot drivers who ignore caution)

Have a good one all – I love all the doggie pics 🙂

Well, the Snowquester left us with about a foot of snow. I ended up working a 14 hour day yesterday, but for the most part we were able to keep up with the snow. I hope that’s the last snow of the year. This stuff will be gone by Monday.

Iriti is sleeping in a bit this morning, and will check in a bit later.

  8. It’s a fine, cold morning in eastern Iowa, about 4 degrees. But it’s supposed to warm up nicely to 35, no wind, no clouds. Should be darn near pleasant by mid-afternoon.

Several things to take care of today but none difficult, I hope. I started a new quilt a couple days ago. It’s another where I don’t have a plan, just making one decision at a time. Those are most fun, because you just can’t know what they’ll look like. It’s all surprising, all challenging. Sorta like life. 🙂

    Or heat!

But this nor’easter is either a flop or it hasn’t hit me yet.  Just some flurries right now.  Winds were bad last night… Calmed down this morning.  I think more of the storm hitting east of me.

Power  went out…????  I haven’t bothered to reset any of the electrical clocks since Sandy since power has been off and on too many times! I guess I’ll reset them all when we Spring ahead.  It does get a bit confusing when i look up and the time is all whacked out! Lol

Anywho… Power came back on about 20 minutes ago.  Got oil burner back up and running.  Now I wait so I can take a hot shower.

Last day – I’m off to Peoria for the day – 3 hours each way and they said I’d be paid for travel time….  They’re even bringing in lunch for me/the group!!

    Later dudes!!

and still windy here in the desert. Happy Birthday to iriti, hope your day is wonderful.

I’m late, I’m late, I’m late. Slept in this morning since I took the day off work.

Snow only amounted to about a foot here and is already melting quickly. To 50 degrees by the weekend. Poor DC didn’t get any after all that excitement.

My birthday is looming as well.  I like them, no matter how old I get. Consider the alternative!

It’s a nippy 38 F. here this morning, with sunshine and blue skies.  Today is my second “fast” day.  It’s not really fasting, I’m allowed to eat 500 calories.  So far I like this diet very much as I can eat what I jolly well please the other five days.

Our forecast 7 to 11 inches of four-letter-word turned out to be 3 and 1/2 inches of gloppy, cold, white stuff.

    Have a good day, everyone!

We finish phase 1 of moving Ron’s mom”s antique store house today, and tomorrow we’ll return to Bellingham. I’m ready to be home! Phase 2 will happen in a couple of weeks, but most of the house is ready for our nephew to move into this weekend.

The move has gone well, but touching, sorting, organizing, and packing the accumulations of a 95 yr old life well live  has been poignant. She came to the house for one last visit before the movers came, and as she left she said, “How did I ever collect so much stuff?” We’ve been asking the same question all week!

physical therapy (if you’re exercising & your achilles starts hurting — stop exercising, find a non-weight bearing exercise to do, take my word)

Our weather is cooling off (those of you who live where there’s tons of snow can start laughing now): lows back into the 30s, though it is probably too late for a freeze. Still need a good warm sweater in the morning, and closed-toed shoes. Soon enough, it’ll be sandals every day, so I try not to mind the shoes & socks thing while it lasts.

Crowds are starting to arrive for SXSW. There will be celebrity sightings galore. I am deeply regretting not getting a badge at least for film & interactive (they’re available 1st & cheaper to locals — and you have to show your license to prove you live her) because not only is Neil Gaiman going to be on a panel (& wow do I have a crush), but Joss Whedon is premiering Much Ado here — and many from the Whedonverse will be in attendance. Oh well, I’ll see it on the news, probably with a better view than I would get if I was there.

I should e-mail my brother & ask when I should go to Dallas. Packing up Mom’s apartment will definitely be sufficient exercise for the weekend.

But today: work, further playing with the Kindle, PT.

  16. Really rough night but feeling better. Working like crazy updating art still. Unfortunately the quick and easy fixes are all done and the rest need more time but hey I’m retired I have loads of time says the woman who is on the road two hours every day taking her niece two and from work. 😉 Speaking of Time that is the Thursday Coffee Hour theme this week the Guardians of Time.

One of my Egyptian influenced art pieces now that I have a fantastic Anubis model.

MSNBC has fixed this “Breaking” red headline, but not before I grabbed this screen capture:

Nice weather on tap today in N.Texas. I have to get my act together and organize for the rest of the month. Between family events, doctor’s appointments and work my planner is getting filled in quickly.

I’m watching newly elected Senator Chris Murphy and seeing my donation to his campaign was well spent. He’s calling for investigations into the rise of death among disabled people in group homes, nursing homes and even some family living situations. Good. I just hope it’s expanded to include those horrific state run institutions we have here in Texas. There was a DOJ investigation into the state “schools” (as they’re called here) a few years ago. Charges were found to be true, and the system put under review–and that’s it. Since then there have more deaths and no explanations. Is it any wonder many in the disabled community often feel as though they’re invisible non-people?

at this Whole Foods (not that I shop there).

     photo GRUMPY-CAT-WHOLE-FOODS-570.jpg

I do shop at Sprouts occasionally, and was dismayed to see on a package of frozen vegs: “Product of China.” Sigh.

My dear navajo and kimoconnor picked me up at the hospital, took me to the pharmacy to get scripts filled, and then saw me up the stairs to my apartment. We also managed a short walk through my neighborhood, which went very smoothly except when I thought for a moment that I’d lost my keys.

I’m sorta tuckered out now and plan to take a nice long nap without interruptions, but first wanted to let all Moosedom know that my post-hospital life is off and running! 🙂

  22. nchristine

It was really, really surprising to me that they decided to have lunch brought in ‘for’ me.  Then they gave me a ‘farewell’ card and a gift certificate to a restaurant.  Apparently, I did good and they really meant that they’ll miss me and my work!!!  This is not something I’m used to.

    Now, I’m crying……
